V heading new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><reference>750 ILCS 60/501 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986 and the Protective Orders Article of the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. Includes economic or financial abuse in the definition of "abuse". Defines "economic or financial abuse" as controlling a person's access to economic or financial resources in a way that forces him or her to depend on the person controlling the economic or financial resources. Provides that if a victim of domestic abuse provides documentation to a debt collector that the debt or any portion of the debt is the result of economic abuse, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt or any disputed portion of the debt owed by the consumer subjected to economic abuse.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
