<reference>625 ILCS 5/11-1204</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-1204</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a driver approaching a stop intersection indicated by a stop sign shall stop before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Floor Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Removes language requiring every driver of a vehicle and every motorman of a streetcar approaching a stop intersection indicated by a stop sign to stop before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection. Requires instead that every driver of a vehicle and every motorman of a streetcar approaching a stop intersection indicated by a stop sign to stop at a clearly marked stop line, but if none, before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, or if none, then at the point nearest the intersection roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering the intersection.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
