| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Louise Joann Gehrs Stahly of Fort |
| 4 | | Lauderdale, Florida, who passed away on October 9, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Louise Stahly was born to Homer and Johanna Gehrs |
| 6 | | in Danvers on May 10, 1931; she married Norval R. Stahly in |
| 7 | | Florida in 1950; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Louise Stahly and her husband combined their |
| 9 | | talents and passions, working together to raise a family, |
| 10 | | develop several businesses, and travel the world; they |
| 11 | | established an internationally recognized marina in Fort |
| 12 | | Lauderale, leading a line of power boats on many Poker Run |
| 13 | | trips and participating in offshore racing; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Louise Stahly was a long-time member of the Beta |
| 15 | | Sigma Phi women's sorority and an active member of Zonta |
| 16 | | International, a foundation providing global support to women |
| 17 | | and girls in the form of education, health care, and economic |
| 18 | | opportunities; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Louise Stahly used her private pilot's license to |
| 20 | | participate in powder puff derbies and to fly her friends and |
| 21 | | family far and near; she had a zest for life and loved boats, |
