| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Opal Lee (Grubbs) Werenski, who passed |
| 4 | | away on June 10, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Opal Werenski was born in Kentucky in 1945 to |
| 6 | | Wilma and Arnold Grubbs; her family moved to Illinois when she |
| 7 | | was a child, and Waukegan became her home for the next 45 |
| 8 | | years; she married Steve Werenski in 1964, and as a young |
| 9 | | married couple, they spent time living in Europe when Steve was |
| 10 | | in the U.S. Army; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Opal Werenski was a cosmetologist and owned her |
| 12 | | own business, Opal's Hair Design, for 20 years; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Opal Werenski was an avid golfer and loved her |
| 14 | | weekends spent at Bonnie Brook with dear friends; she enjoyed |
| 15 | | being surrounded by friends and family, celebrating life's |
| 16 | | milestones, often in her own home which became a second home to |
| 17 | | so many; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Opal Werenski was preceded in death by her |
| 19 | | husband, Steve; her siblings, Roscoe, Louise, Jerry, Larry, and |
| 20 | | David; and her parents; and
