| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Stanley Finka of Lake County, who passed |
| 4 | | away on December 12, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Finka was born in Poland to Andrew Finka |
| 6 | | and Anna Finka on April 16, 1922; he fought with the British |
| 7 | | Army during WWII against Germany; he came to the U.S. soon |
| 8 | | after the war; he married Helena Khayat in 1975; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Finka was a manager at the Basler |
| 10 | | Corporation; he and his wife became general contractors; |
| 11 | | together, they built over 40 single family homes and 2 |
| 12 | | commercial buildings in Lake County; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Finka was preceded in death by his wife of |
| 14 | | 42 years, Helena Khayat Finka; his daughter, Jeanette Donahue; |
| 15 | | his grandsons, James Michael Khayat and Marshall Michael |
| 16 | | Khayat; his parents, Andrew Finka and Anna Finka; and his |
| 17 | | sister, Sophie Rok; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Stanley Finka is survived by his children, Anna |
| 19 | | Wilson, Miranda Reeder, Christian Khayat, Mary Bennett, Lenny |
| 20 | | Khayat, Mark Khayat, and their spouses; his 14 grandchildren; |
| 21 | | his 25 great-grandchildren; his nephew, Wactaw (Alicja) Rok; |
