SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of David W. Udstuen of Morris, who passed 
4away on May 19, 2020; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, David Udstuen was born in Morris to Betty Udstuen 
6on October 5, 1953; he was educated in the Morris and 
7Minooka-area and graduated from Minooka Community High School 
8in 1971;  he married Jayne Smith on September 2, 1972, and they 
9settled in rural Morris; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, David Udstuen attended the Joint Apprenticeship 
11and Training Program through  IBEW Local 176 and became a 
12journeyman wireman for many years; he was an Assistant BA from 
131989-1999 and a BA beginning in 1999 until his retirement in 
142010; he  served as a volunteer firefighter with the Morris Fire 
15Protection District for many years; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, David Udstuen enjoyed woodworking, fishing, 
17parachuting, and spending time with his family and friends, 
18especially his grandchildren; he greatly enjoyed golfing; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, David Udstuen was preceded in death by his 
20son-in-law, Michael Moreno; his in-laws, Floyd  and Shirley 
21Smith; his sister-in-law, Carla Farr; his niece, Jennifer

1Grossman; his uncle, Frank Laursen; his great-aunt, Margie 
2Nolte; his grandparents, Gertude and Oscar Udstuen;  his 
3great-aunt, Lucille Wicks; and his stepmother-in-law, Jeanine 
4Smith; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, David Udstuen is survived by his mother, Betty; 
6his wife of 48 years, Jayne; his  daughters, Kim Udstuen-Moreno 
7and Lanette Lewis; his grandchildren, Alec Udstuen and Jacob 
8Moreno; his  sister-in-law, Joan (Al) Morris; his aunts, Mary 
9Laursen and Bernice Dent; his uncle, Robert Udstuen; and many 
10nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
13David W. Udstuen and extend our sincere condolences to his 
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
15further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to  the family of  David Udstuen as an expression of 
18our deepest sympathy.
