SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Jeffrey John Leech, who passed away on 
4November 1, 2019; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Leech was born in Moline to
Harold A. and 
6Lucille M. (Boss) Leech on December 8, 1946; he served in
the 
7U.S. Army and married Sue Beecher on September 14, 1984; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Leech was an automotive restoration 
9specialist, specializing in restoring
Corvettes; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Leech was an important figure in the lives 
11of many of his children's friends and was affectionately known 
12as "Papa Jeff"; he was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church; 
13some of
his favorite pastimes included  playing baseball, 
14golfing, and fishing with his kids; he also enjoyed fishing and 
15playing cards with his many
good friends and  building and 
16flying radio-controlled airplanes; he hosted hog roasts for 
17over 20 years; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Leech was preceded in death by his 
19parents; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Jeffrey Leech is survived by his wife of 35 years,

1Sue;
his children, Rebecca (Ian) Schroeder, Katherine Leech, 
2Thomas (Carly) Leech, and Stacie; his grandchildren, Theodore 
3and Eleanora Leech; his dog, Sadie; a  sister and a
brother; and 
4the Beecher clan; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Jeffrey John Leech and extend our sincere condolences to his 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to  the family of  Jeffrey Leech as an expression of 
12our deepest sympathy.
