| 4 | | Springfield, who passed away on May 8, 2019; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Juanita Barton was born in Springfield to Walter |
| 6 | | B. Smith Sr. and Viola Smith Burney on October 20, 1926; she |
| 7 | | attended Iles Elementary School, Feitshans High School, |
| 8 | | Lincoln Land Community College, and Sangamon State University; |
| 9 | | and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Juanita Barton was an employee of the Arbee |
| 11 | | Printing Co., Sangamo Electric, the City of Springfield, and |
| 12 | | the State of Illinois Executive Ethics Commission; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Juanita Barton was an activist, president, |
| 14 | | vice-president, secretary, executive board member, board |
| 15 | | member, and a member of various civic, community, and national |
| 16 | | organizations; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Juanita Barton was preceded in death by her |
| 18 | | parents; her husband, Kenneth E. Barton Sr.; her daughter, |
| 19 | | Allison Dewith Wilson and son, Eugene J. Mitchell; and her |
| 20 | | siblings, Walter B. Smith Jr., Marguerite Roberts, Elwood W. |
| 21 | | Smith, Robert C. Smith, James Smith, and Samuel Smith; and
