| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Nicholas A. "Nick" Elizondo of |
| 4 | | Belleville, who passed away on January 21, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Nick Elizondo was born in Springfield to Jody and |
| 6 | | Mark Elizondo on
October 9, 1989; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Nick Elizondo dealt with heterotaxy, biliary |
| 8 | | atresia, liver transplant, and most recently cancer; he was |
| 9 | | known for what he fought for and not what he was fighting |
| 10 | | against; he was a champion of spreading awareness and always |
| 11 | | made the most of life; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Nick Elizondo was a member of the Outreach |
| 13 | | Committee for Heterotaxy Connection; he served on the |
| 14 | | leadership team, connecting new members into the Heterotaxy |
| 15 | | Connection
community, and was a relentless advocate for |
| 16 | | increased awareness, leading blood drives through
his local |
| 17 | | Masonic temple, participating in heart walks, and being one of |
| 18 | | the loudest voices on
Awareness Day; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Nick Elizondo was a member of St. Clair Lodge #24 |
| 20 | | AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies,
and Ainad Shrine; he organized |
| 21 | | blood drives and toy drives for the Masonic Lodge; he was
an |
