| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Bobbie Gene "Hey Guy" Mann of Decatur, |
| 4 | | who passed away on January 7, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann was born in Decatur to Emmett and |
| 6 | | Margie Suttles Mann on September 27, 1941; he married Clara |
| 7 | | Mann on September 29, 1972; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann was the area's longest-serving |
| 9 | | political captain; he served on the Democratic Committee, the |
| 10 | | Lincoln Board of Trustees, and Partners in Education; he was a |
| 11 | | member of Laborers' Local 159 for 48 years, including four |
| 12 | | years as president; In 1965, he sold the first Ford Mustang in |
| 13 | | Decatur; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Bobbie Man was an avid fan of the St. Louis |
| 15 | | Cardinals and the Fighting Illini men's basketball team; he |
| 16 | | enjoyed playing basketball with friends; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 18 | | his wife, Clara; and his nine siblings; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bobbie Mann is survived by his daughter, Jennifer |
| 20 | | (Shannon) Fisher; his son, Scott Mann; his stepson, Scott |
