| 7 | | the Lincoln-Way East Griffins represented the Southwest |
| 8 | | Suburban Conference at Northern Illinois University's Huskie |
| 9 | | Stadium, where they beat the previously undefeated Blue Devils |
| 10 | | of Warren Township High School by a score of 12-0; and

| 11 | | WHEREAS, Led by Head Coach Rob Zvonar, the Griffins |
| 12 | | finished an undefeated season with a record of 14 wins and 0 |
| 13 | | losses; en route to the Championship, Lincoln-Way East won four |
| 14 | | playoff games against Plainfield South, Notre Dame College |
| 15 | | Prep, Homewood-Flossmoor, and Marist by a combined score of |
| 16 | | 113-27; and

| 17 | | WHEREAS, Including the 2018 State Championship, |
| 18 | | Lincoln-Way East has won three football State Championships, |
| 19 | | two of which were won in the last three years; and

| 20 | | WHEREAS, The gritty championship game, set against bitter |
| 21 | | temperatures, blustery wind, and unforgiving rain, was marked |
