HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Bloomingdale Township Clerk Joyce Hundhausen, who passed away on December 24, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Hundhausen was appointed to the township clerk's post in 2016 and won election to the seat a year later; previously, she served as a township trustee for 15 years, winning her first term in 2001; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Hundhausen moved to Carol Stream with her family in 1984 and was active in Republican political activities; she served on the Carol Stream planning and zoning board and as Bloomingdale Village President Franco Coladipietro's legislative aide when he served in Springfield as a state representative; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Hundhausen was the legislative chair for the Glendale Heights Junior Women's Club and a member of the Roselle, Bloomingdale, Glendale Heights, Carol Stream, and Hanover Park Chambers of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Hundhausen will be remembered for her warm personality and lifetime of charitable outreach; a cancer survivor, she organized multiple fundraisers for the American Cancer Society; she enjoyed giving back to the community through charitable endeavors as well as her public service; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Hundhausen was preceded in death by her husband, William; and

WHEREAS, Joyce Hundhausen is survived by a daughter; a brother; a sister, and her mother; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bloomingdale Township Clerk Joyce Hundhausen and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joyce Hundhausen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
