| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Michael |
| 4 | | Walter "Train" Butler, who passed away on August 10, 2019; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Michael Butler was born in Savannah, Georgia to |
| 6 | | Walter Homan Butler Jr. and Shirley Marie Darensbourg-Butler on |
| 7 | | February 18, 1952; he attended Rudyard Kipling Elementary |
| 8 | | School and graduated from Harlan High School; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Michael Butler was a hard worker and had many jobs |
| 10 | | and roles; when he was employed by the Illinois Juvenile |
| 11 | | Detention Center in St. Charles, he met and married Valerie |
| 12 | | Denise Thomas; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Michael Butler was committed to his faith; he was |
| 14 | | baptized Catholic but later became a member of Gayles Memorial |
| 15 | | Baptist Church in Aurora, where he served until he moved back |
| 16 | | to Chicago; he then joined the Apostolic Church of God; he |
| 17 | | enjoyed reading, listening to music, playing musical |
| 18 | | instruments, politics, debating, watching the Chicago Cubs, |
| 19 | | cooking, and making the best pitchers of Kool-Aid; he valued |
| 20 | | the time he spent with his family and friends; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Michael Butler was preceded in death by his |
