HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to commend Mary Ann Millush on her more than 25 years of service to the College of DuPage; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush has cultivated key relationships within various COD constituency groups, as well as with external organizations, community leaders, and elected officials on both national and local platforms; and

WHEREAS, As Director of Legislative Relations and Special Assistant to the President of the College, Mary Ann Millush has provided impeccable service to six of the College's seven presidents; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush has assisted board members with orientation to the COD Board, leadership transitions, and public governance with efficiency, professionalism, and grace; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush headed numerous legislative events to best position the College with senators, state representatives, and other legislators; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush helped lead efforts to successfully pass a No-Tax-Rate-Increase referendum, identifying key constituent groups for outreach efforts and coordinating speaking engagements for referendum team volunteers with local governmental entities, which helped fund $168 million in capital improvements at the Glen Ellyn campus, addressing key infrastructure needs on campus; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush, through an innate understanding of the relationships and distinctions that characterize a large educational institution, has provided invaluable guidance on all aspects of administrative business; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush maintained positive working relationships with local legislators and members of the business community through one of the most tumultuous periods of the College's history; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush facilitated positive and productive relationships between College leaders, entrepreneurial entities, and elected officials from the Village of Glen Ellyn, resulting in the creation of the inaugural Innovation DuPage (ID), a business incubator/accelerator/training facility in the heart of DuPage County; and

WHEREAS, Mary Ann Millush has consistently provided unfaltering dedication to processes and procedures to ensure Board business is undertaken in strict accordance with State law; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend Mary Ann Millush on her more than 25 years of dedicated service to the College of DuPage; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mary Ann Millush as an expression of our esteem and respect.
