HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate James A. Cripe on the 
4occasion of his retirement as Director of Piatt County 9-1-1; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, On April 12, 1994, The Piatt County Board 
7established the Piatt County Emergency Telephone System Board 
8by ordinance and charged them with the responsibility of 
9establishing an Enhanced 9-1-1 Telephone System; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Piatt County Emergency Telephone System Board 
11activated the E9-1-1 Telephone System in July of 1997, and the 
12first call in Piatt County was received; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Piatt County Emergency Telephone System Board 
14launched a search to fill the newly-created full-time position 
15of E9-1-1 Director in January of 1998; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, James Cripe of Bloomington-Normal began his first 
17day of service on October 5, 1998; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, For the next 21 years, James Cripe continued to 
19implement and maintain the E9-1-1 Telephone System; he 
20continued planning and implementing multiple system upgrades,

1including the preparation for a Next Generation 9-1-1 upgrade; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
4HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate James A. Cripe on the occasion of his 
6retirement as Director of Piatt County 9-1-1 on June 28, 2019, 
7commend his 21 years of service, and wish him success in his 
8future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to James Cripe as an expression of our esteem and 
11respect.
