HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Menard County Farm Bureau on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Menard County Farm Bureau is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to educating community leaders, legislators, consumers, and schools about agriculture; it strives to enhance opportunities for its members to improves their farms and businesses; and

WHEREAS, The Menard County Farm Bureau believes it is important to help promote agriculture throughout the county and does this by donating time, resources, and money to local organizations, groups, and events that promote agriculture throughout the county; and

WHEREAS, The Menard County Farm Bureau was formed to promote the development of the most profitable and sustainable system of agriculture possible in the county and to help with the educational, social, and financial welfare of its inhabitants; and

WHEREAS, The Menard County Farm Bureau has a Young Leader committee that provides services to the community; and

WHEREAS, The Menard County Farm Bureau provides $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors with an interest in agriculture through its foundation; and

WHEREAS, The Menard County Farm Bureau's current mission statement is: Enriching our community through contributions to agriculture; and

WHEREAS, The Menard County Farm Bureau is affiliated with the Illinois Farm Bureau; and

WHEREAS, The Menard County Farm Bureau has been a staple in Menard County since its founding; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Menard County Farm Bureau on 100 years of service to Menard County, and we wish them many more successful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Menard County Farm Bureau as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
