HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, For more than a century, Illinois community banks 
3and thrifts have acted as the community partner for local 
4business, industry, and individuals; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The Community Bankers Association of Illinois is 
6celebrating its 45th year of serving
Illinois community banks; 
7and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Over 400 locally owned and/or operated community 
9banks and thrifts with
thousands of banking offices in Illinois 
10have upheld a tradition of giving back to their communities; 
11and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Illinois community banks and thrifts employ over 
1330,000 workers across the
State; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, On the average, over 95 percent of a community 
15financial institution's loan
portfolio is reinvested in the 
16local area as farm, commercial, small-business, and 
17residential loans; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Illinois community banks and thrifts are among the 
19safest and most well-capitalized
banks in the nation; and

1    WHEREAS, In recognition of their contributions to the 
2economic vitality of the State of Illinois and their continuing

3dedication to fulfilling the credit needs of citizens 
4throughout the State, the Community Bankers
Association of 
5Illinois will celebrate Illinois Community Banking Week from 
6April 7-13, 2019; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
8HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
9we congratulate the community banking
profession as they 
10celebrate Illinois Community Banking Week; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12provided to the Community Bankers
Association of Illinois as a 
13symbol of our respect and esteem.
