HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to commend young Logan
Brinson of Alpha, 
4whose love of reading and sharing books with others led him to 
5open three book-sharing locations in his home town and one in 
6the neighboring village of Rio, all of which are known as 
7"Logan's Little Library"; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, After moving to Alpha with his family in 2017, 
9Logan Brinson, a five-year-old student, took action when he 
10found that his
community did not have a public library; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Logan Brinson started his own "little library" in 
12the front yard of his family's home as a
way to share his love 
13of reading with his community, allowing Alpha residents to pick 
14up a book they might be interested in reading or share a book 
15that others might enjoy; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The success of the first Logan's Little Library 
17led to the need for a second location in Alpha,
recognizing 
18that some children and families might not be able to easily 
19cross US Highway 150 to access his
first location; Alpha's 
20third location is now being established in the local pharmacy; 
21a fourth location in the neighboring Village of Rio is also 
22being established; and

1    WHEREAS, Due to Logan Brinson's hard work and innovative 
2idea, more than 2,000 books from 22 states and 13 countries 
3have been donated; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Logan Brinson's commitment to his community has 
5not gone without notice, as local, statewide,
and national news 
6media, and office holders have recognized his efforts aimed at 
7increasing literacy and
a sense of community, which is 
8all-too-often diminishing in our modern times; therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
10HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
11we join the many friends, fans, and supporters of Logan 
12Brinson's "Little Library" in honoring founder Logan Brinson; 
13and be it further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to Logan Brinson as an expression of our
esteem and 
16respect.
