SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Wilbur Edwin Brooks of New Windsor, 
4formerly of East Moline, who passed away on November 15, 2018; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Wilbur Brooks was born in Rock Island on November 
712, 1942; he served in the United States Navy during the 
8Vietnam War; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Wilbur Brooks worked for John Deere and then drove 
10semis for several companies; he retired from Roadway Express in 
11Rock Island in 2000; he then drove a school bus in East Moline 
12and did maintenance work for Jordan Catholic School in Rock 
13Island; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, Wilbur Brooks was preceded in death by his father, 
15Robert E. Brooks; his mother and stepfather, Inez and Gerald 
16Rushton; and his uncles, Richard, Norman, and Frank Quist; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Wilbur Brooks is survived by his son, Eric 
18(Jennifer) Brooks; his stepson, John (Wendy) Pulford; his 
19step-grandchildren, Spencer and Caroline Pulford; his sisters, 
20Bonnie (Dick) Curry and Connie (Allen) Schnoor; his brother, 
21Gary Brooks; and his many close friends and neighbors;

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Wilbur Edwin Brooks and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Wilbur Brooks as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
