| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Caroline Maxine Holford of Peoria, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 22, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Caroline Holford was born in Peoria to Harry and |
| 6 | | Anna (Klochenga) Ward on June 11, 1943; she loved Peoria and |
| 7 | | played on the river as a child; she married Eugene Holford on |
| 8 | | June 11, 1960; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Caroline Holford worked at the Hometown Buffet for |
| 10 | | three years and loved working with people and the staff there; |
| 11 | | and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, In 1997, Caroline Holford became the town "Rat |
| 13 | | Lady" when she fought city hall on her own because a young boy |
| 14 | | was afraid to sleep in his bedroom; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS In 2000, Caroline Holford was asked to serve on the |
| 16 | | Heartland Clinic Board, the first patient to do so, where she |
| 17 | | served until 2011; she also served on the Housing and Property |
| 18 | | Commission, under three mayors; she helped raise money for |
| 19 | | neighborhood leaders to travel to other cities; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Caroline Holford loved people, her community, her |
