| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Rabbi Barry N. Robinson of Chicago, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 12, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rabbi Robinson served as a computer programmer, an |
| 6 | | adjunct professor at Northwestern University, and a Daf Yomi |
| 7 | | teacher; his encyclopedic breadth of understanding of Torah and |
| 8 | | Talmud, coupled with his depth of knowledge in general studies |
| 9 | | and clever ways of bringing energy into the classroom, inspired |
| 10 | | his students and helped him relate to them in ways other |
| 11 | | teachers did not; even through surgeries and illnesses, he |
| 12 | | continued to teach and inspire and never let anything get in |
| 13 | | the way of his students' learning; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Rabbi Robinson served as a teacher, mentor, |
| 15 | | advisor, and friend; he often came to class with Dunkin' Donuts |
| 16 | | or gave someone his credit card to pay for food for the whole |
| 17 | | class; his warmth, smile, sense of humor, and wit drew people |
| 18 | | to him; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Rabbi Robinson was the loving husband of Susan N. |
| 20 | | (Nathan) Robinson, the loving father of Miriam (the late Neal) |
| 21 | | Stein, Rabbi NeChamia (Miriam) Robinson, Aliza (Rabbi Yakov) |
| 22 | | Nadav, Rabbi Yakov (Azara) Robinson, and Rabbi Yehoshua |
