| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Albert C. "Butch" Fisher of Decatur, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 18, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Albert Fisher was born in Decatur to Everett |
| 6 | | Charles and Juanita McDaniel Fisher on October 6, 1943; he |
| 7 | | graduated from Atwood-Hammond High School and received his |
| 8 | | agriculture degree from Southern Illinois University; he |
| 9 | | served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and married |
| 10 | | Sherlyn Sue Sykes at the Hammond United Methodist Church on |
| 11 | | November 24, 1968; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Albert Fisher farmed and worked for Kemper |
| 13 | | Insurance and Morton Buildings; he was a resource |
| 14 | | conservationist for the Douglas County Soil and Water |
| 15 | | Conservation District; he traveled to many schools and events |
| 16 | | with his rainfall simulator and promoted no-till farming |
| 17 | | methods prior to his retirement; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Albert Fisher was a member of the Hammond United |
| 19 | | Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Bement Masonic Lodge |
| 20 | | #365, AF & AM, and a board member of the Piatt County Soil and |
| 21 | | Water Conservation District; he was a former president of the |
| 22 | | Atwood-Hammond School Board and a trustee of the Hammond |
