| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Billy Duane "Bill" Jackson of Anna, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 21, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Jackson was born in Ware to Harvey William |
| 6 | | Jackson and Edna Mae Tucker on February 14, 1937; he served in |
| 7 | | the United States Air Force in Korea; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Along with his wife, Bill Jackson owned and |
| 9 | | operated the Union County Press in Anna and the Jackson Peach |
| 10 | | Orchard for many years; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bill Jackson was Assistant Chief of the Anna Fire |
| 12 | | and Rescue Department for 57 years, from 1961 until 2018; his |
| 13 | | devotion to the Anna Fire and Rescue Department was |
| 14 | | unparalleled; while being honored as Fireman of the Month, he |
| 15 | | said that if he had been born rich, he would have been a |
| 16 | | professional volunteer; he worked tirelessly to ensure |
| 17 | | everyone and every detail was taken care of; he was passionate |
| 18 | | in his desire to help others, especially his community; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bill Jackson served on the Anna-Jonesboro |
| 20 | | Community High School District No. 81 School Board of |
| 21 | | Education, the Union County Chamber of Commerce, and as a Union |
