| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Betty Jane (Hoover) Affield, who passed |
| 4 | | away on September 7, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Betty Affield was born in Frederick, Maryland to |
| 6 | | Theo A. and Viola M. (Hetterly) Hoover on March 6, 1935; she |
| 7 | | grew up in Northwest Detroit; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Betty Affield began her 40-year career in juvenile |
| 9 | | justice as a probation officer in Cook County; she retired as |
| 10 | | CM of the Juvenile Bureau of McHenry County; she was recognized |
| 11 | | by the McHenry County Board and the State of Illinois for her |
| 12 | | dedication to the field of probation; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Betty Affield was a member of Faith Presbyterian |
| 14 | | Church in McHenry, where she served as a member of the choir, a |
| 15 | | Sunday school teacher, a Deacon, and a Stephen Minister; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Betty Affield was preceded in death by her |
| 17 | | parents; her son-in-law, Mark Romani; and her nephews, Daniel |
| 18 | | and James Stoner; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Betty Affield is survived by her daughter, Jodi |
| 20 | | Romani; her grandsons, Samuel and Micah Romani; her sisters, |
