| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Anita R. "Donnie" Chiero, who passed away |
| 4 | | on October 13, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donnie Chiero was born in Chicago to Gaetano Bondi |
| 6 | | and Josephine Sansone on February 20, 1930; she was the |
| 7 | | youngest of eight children; she married Joseph A. Chiero in |
| 8 | | Chicago on December 27, 1952; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Prior to her marriage, Donnie Chiero worked in the |
| 10 | | clerical division of Sears, Roebuck and Company in Chicago; in |
| 11 | | 2010, she retired from Cook County, where she worked as a |
| 12 | | crossing guard for 20 years; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Donnie Chiero raised her family in Oak Park, where |
| 14 | | she was a longtime member of the St. Giles Family Mass |
| 15 | | Community and active in many other organizations; after the |
| 16 | | death of her husband in 1982, she embarked on a journey through |
| 17 | | the remainder of her life, and she helped raise her |
| 18 | | grandchildren, volunteered at St. Isaac Jogues in Des Plaines, |
| 19 | | and worked several part-time jobs; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Donnie Chiero later moved to The British Home in |
| 21 | | Brookfield, where she had many friends and enjoyed the myriad |
