SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John G. Thyer Sr. of Bunker Hill, who passed away on September 6, 2018; and

WHEREAS, John Thyer was born in Alton to Arthur Jr. and Charlotte (Welch) Thyer on January 5, 1954; he married Cindy (Diestelhorst) Thyer in Bunker Hill on March 10, 1973; and

WHEREAS, John Thyer worked as an over the road car hauler, and he was Principal Officer of Teamster Local 604; and

WHEREAS, John Thyer enjoyed fishing with Terry, golfing with his boys, and racing super modified race cars; and

WHEREAS, John Thyer was preceded in death by his father, Arthur, and his brother, Steve Thyer; and

WHEREAS, John Thyer is survived by his mother, Charlotte Thyer; his wife, Cindy Thyer; his children, Jodi (Joe) Potthast, Richard (Emily) Thyer, Katie (John) Mirkovic, Amanda (Steve) Moore, Angie (J.R.) Santel, Julie (Shaun) Watson, John (Allie) Thyer Jr., and Nick (Jessica) Thyer; his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Michaela, Ashlyn, Trent, Drew, Ava, Liam, Kyla, Roland, Clint, Clark, Ariana, Vivian, Blake, Luke, Jake, Addie Jane, Zoey, Alex, Carter, Braden, Betty, Addi Lynn, Frank, Claire, and a 26th grandchild expected in January of 2019; his great-granddaughter, Genevieve Hunter; his 2nd great-grandchild, Tyler Thomas expected in November of 2018; his brother, Joe (Debbie) Thyer; his sister-in-law, Peggy Thyer; and his mother-in-law, Jane Diestelhorst; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John G. Thyer Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Thyer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
