| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Charliene T. Kloppenburg of Springfield, |
| 4 | | who passed away on August 23, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charliene Kloppenburg was born in Springfield to |
| 6 | | Charles and Amelia (Noll) Tucker on October 26, 1927; she |
| 7 | | graduated from Lanphier High School in 1945; she married Henry |
| 8 | | R. Kloppenburg on September 28, 1955; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Charliene Kloppenburg was a member of many |
| 10 | | organizations, including the PEO Chapter CA, the Eastern Star, |
| 11 | | The Springfield Civic Garden Club, the Springfield Theater |
| 12 | | Guild, the Springfield Symphony Guild, as well as several |
| 13 | | bridge clubs; she was a lifetime member of St John's Lutheran |
| 14 | | Church, where she sang in the choir and served as the Bible |
| 15 | | school superintendent and Sunday School teacher for many years; |
| 16 | | and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Charliene Kloppenburg was a lifelong learner and |
| 18 | | treasured music, theater, and the written word; she was known |
| 19 | | for her singing and the ability to recite classic poems from |
| 20 | | memory; she had a deep faith and an open heart; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Charliene Kloppenburg was preceded in death by her |
