| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Richard P. "Dick" Miller of Bloomington, |
| 4 | | who passed away on August 23, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dick Miller was born in Tiskilwa to Raymond P. and |
| 6 | | Blanche Ames Miller on July 29, 1936; he married Avalon Sash in |
| 7 | | Tiskilwa on June 28, 1958; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Dick Miller began his career at the General |
| 9 | | Telephone Co., serving over 40 years; he retired as the |
| 10 | | Director of Governmental Affairs; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dick Miller was a member of the Western Illinois |
| 12 | | University Foundation Board, where he served for 25 years; he |
| 13 | | was a longtime member of the Cavalry United Methodist Church, |
| 14 | | where he served in a variety of ways; he was an avid golfer and |
| 15 | | enjoyed socializing with family and friends; he especially |
| 16 | | enjoyed his visits with the "Garage Kings" in his neighborhood; |
| 17 | | and

| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dick Miller was preceded in death by his parents |
| 19 | | and his sister, Kai Nelson; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Dick Miller is survived by his wife, Avalon; his |
