SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Ellen Rae Sonntag of Crystal Lake, who 
4passed away on August 17, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ellen Sonntag was born in Chicago to LaVerne and 
6Eleanor (O'Brien) Rennhak on December 18, 1944; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Ellen Sonntag retired from the McHenry County 
8Housing Authority, where she was the Executive Director; she 
9volunteered to do the taxes of many seniors in the area; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, In her free time and in retirement, she enjoyed 
11her beautiful garden and could name every flower she was 
12growing; she liked to swim in her backyard pool, read a good 
13book, and spend time with her family and friends; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Ellen Sonntag was preceded in death by her parents 
15and her sons, Sean, Timothy, and Brian; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Ellen Sonntag is survived by her grandson, 
17Guinness Sonntag; her sister, Mary Jane (Michael) Cole; her 
18nephew, John (Catherine) McNamara; her great-niece and 
19great-nephew, Lauren and Andrew McNamara; and her dear friends, 
20Gail and Tom Lehner; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Ellen Rae Sonntag and extend our sincere condolences to her 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Ellen Sonntag as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
