| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Raymond Rayburn Mayfield who passed away |
| 4 | | on June 30, 2018; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Rayburn Mayfield was born in Waukegan to Postel |
| 6 | | and Rosie Mayfield on August 19, 1950; he played AAU basketball |
| 7 | | in his youth and graduated from North Chicago Community High |
| 8 | | School; he married Linda Taylor on November 3, 1974; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Rayburn Mayfield was a member of Zion Temple |
| 10 | | Church of God in Christ in Zion; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Rayburn Mayfield was an avid fan of the Chicago |
| 12 | | Cubs; his pride and joy was his orange '57 Chevy, which was |
| 13 | | admired by many sports car enthusiasts; he loved soul music, |
| 14 | | especially The Temptations; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Rayburn Mayfield was preceded in death by his |
| 16 | | parents; his brother, William Mayfield; his sister, Pearl |
| 17 | | Medley; and his sons, Shawn Taylor, Tony Craigen, and Tremaine |
| 18 | | Taylor; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Rayburn Mayfield is survived by wife, Linda; his |
| 20 | | son, Kwantez Mayfield; his sisters, Mae Berta Poole and Gloria |
