| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Ralph Charles Krippner of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on June 24, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Krippner was born in Chicago to Edward and |
| 6 | | Beatrice (Falout) Krippner on December 11, 1939; he married |
| 7 | | Mary Mielke on June 9, 1962 and they settled in Moline in 1977; |
| 8 | | and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Krippner retired from the Rock Island |
| 10 | | Arsenal as a historian; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ralph Krippner was an avid reader and never |
| 12 | | stopped learning; as a lifelong Catholic, he attended daily |
| 13 | | mass and served as a Eucharistic minister, lector, and a server |
| 14 | | at funeral masses; he enjoyed Bible studies and monthly |
| 15 | | meetings with the GK Chesterton Society; he enjoyed walking and |
| 16 | | hiking, and some of his favorite trips included Pennine Way, |
| 17 | | Offa's Dike, and the coast-to-coast trails in England and the |
| 18 | | Camino de Santiago; his local adventures included all walking |
| 19 | | paths in his area, traveling across the U.S. in an RV, and |
| 20 | | daily trips to the YMCA and public library; he was renowned for |
| 21 | | his generous hospitality, especially Sunday brunch, and his pun |
| 22 | | humor; and
