| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Glen Franklin Fringer, who passed away on |
| 4 | | May 29, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Glen Fringer was born in Tower Hill to Lula and |
| 6 | | Charles Fringer on July 20, 1920; he served in the United |
| 7 | | States Army during World War II and was stationed in the |
| 8 | | Philippines; he married Joyce Mason on June 7, 1941; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Glen Fringer worked at Woodstock Die Casting until |
| 10 | | his retirement at the age of 60; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Glen Fringer was a talented carpenter and |
| 12 | | handyman; he built his first two homes and kept busy helping |
| 13 | | many in the Woodstock area; he was a fixture at Uncle Dan's |
| 14 | | restaurant in Woodstock, owned by his daughter, Sandy, and |
| 15 | | son-in-law, Dan Terlikowski; he was a proud member of the |
| 16 | | Woodstock Moose Lodge, which he joined in November of 1946; he |
| 17 | | worked tirelessly supporting the lodge, as a handyman, Bingo |
| 18 | | caller, turkey carver, and doing any other job that needed |
| 19 | | doing; he was a past governor and attained the rank of Pilgrim, |
| 20 | | one of his proudest achievements; he was also the lodge's |
| 21 | | oldest and longest-serving member; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Glen Fringer participated in an Honor Flight to |
| 2 | | Washington, D.C. in August of 2012 with his grandson, |
| 3 | | Nathaniel; he and Joyce were active members of the Woodstock |
| 4 | | Woodchucks Camping Club for many years; they enjoyed traveling |
| 5 | | in their RV and camping locally, often including their |
| 6 | | grandchildren; Glen enjoyed Cribbage and Pegs and fishing; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Glen Fringer was preceded in death by his wife of |
| 8 | | 64 years, Joyce; his son, Jerry; his daughter, Sandy; his |
| 9 | | parents; his daughter-in-law, Sandy; his son-in-law, Dan; and |
| 10 | | many siblings; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Glen Fringer is survived by his daughter, Cindy |
| 12 | | (Chris) Burns; his son, Ron; his daughter-in-law, Luanne |
| 13 | | (Fringer); his sibling, Jean (Vanlue); his grandsons, Kevin |
| 14 | | (Justine), Patrick, Nathaniel (Sabrina), and Josh Burns; his |
| 15 | | granddaughters, Megan (Fringer) and Jenelle (Mike) Gilman; and |
| 16 | | his great-grandchildren, Kyle, Sierra, Caleb, Ethan, Zoe, |
| 17 | | Abby, Delaney, Molly, Charlie, and Vivian; therefore, be it
|
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
| 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 20 | | Glen Franklin Fringer, and extend our sincere condolences to |
| 21 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
