| 2 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
| 3 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the School Discipline |
| 4 | | Reform Task Force is created for the purpose of assessing the |
| 5 | | implementation of the school discipline reform
legislation |
| 6 | | passed in 2015, Senate Bill 100 (Public Act 99-456), and making |
| 7 | | recommendations to address
any ongoing challenges related to |
| 8 | | the overuse or misuse of exclusionary discipline and what has |
| 9 | | become
known as the "school-to-prison pipeline"; and be it |
| 10 | | further
|
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate President shall designate a |
| 12 | | member of the Illinois Senate to
serve as chairperson of the |
| 13 | | Task Force; and be it further
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That the chairperson of the Task Force shall be |
| 15 | | responsible for
selecting the members of the Task Force, which |
| 16 | | shall include, at a minimum: a representative from the
State |
| 17 | | Board of Education, students, parents, school administrators, |
| 18 | | teachers, education researchers, and
experienced advocates in |
| 19 | | this field; and be it further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall be responsible for |
| 21 | | soliciting feedback
from the public through public meetings and |
| 22 | | other methods; and be it further
