| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of William B. "Bill" Johnson of Joliet, who |
| 4 | | passed away on May 1, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Johnson was born in St. Charles to Lois and |
| 6 | | Carl Johnson on February 4, 1945; he graduated from Kaneland |
| 7 | | High School in 1963; he earned his bachelor of science degree |
| 8 | | at the University of Illinois in 1967 and his master of science |
| 9 | | degree in 1968; he was also a Bronze Tablet recipient at the |
| 10 | | University of Illinois; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bill Johnson recently celebrated his 50th year as |
| 12 | | an Agriculture Instructor at Joliet Junior College; he began |
| 13 | | his career at Joliet Junior College on September 1, 1968 and |
| 14 | | was hired by Elmer Rowley, the college's first president; he |
| 15 | | was a fierce advocate for agricultural education, and his |
| 16 | | loyalty and dedication to the agriculture program at Joliet |
| 17 | | Junior College, and the agriculture community, was unmatched; |
| 18 | | he was incredibly forward thinking about how to draw young |
| 19 | | people into Agriculture education; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Bill Johnson was a leader, not only in the |
| 21 | | classroom, but also in the community; he served on the Joliet |
| 22 | | Junior College Foundation Board since 2010; he touched many |
