| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Phillip V. "Phil" "Butch" Tubbs of |
| 4 | | Moline, who passed away on May 2, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Phil Tubbs was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to |
| 6 | | Jesse and Matilda Tubbs on May 23, 1939; he married Judith |
| 7 | | Ferrall, and they later divorced; he then married Sharon |
| 8 | | Gibson; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Phil Tubbs proudly served in the United States |
| 10 | | Navy as a gunner's mate aboard the USS Des Moines from 1958 |
| 11 | | until 1966; he retired from the Rock Island Arsenal, where he |
| 12 | | was a machinist, in 1988; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Phil Tubbs enjoyed the beauty and collecting of |
| 14 | | antiques; he had a passion for food and spending time outdoors; |
| 15 | | he also loved to travel; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Phil Tubbs was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 17 | | his sister, Judith Flint; his brother, Richard Tubbs; and his |
| 18 | | stepdaughter, Tammy Van Hoosier; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Phil Tubbs is survived by his wife, Sharon; his |
| 20 | | children, Eugene (Melissa) Tubbs, Phyllis (Eric) Mossage, and |
