| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Neil Winston, M.D., who passed away on |
| 4 | | March 4, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Winston was born to Lloyd Sr. and Dorothy |
| 6 | | Winston Dillard on December 18, 1955; he graduated from St. |
| 7 | | Ignatius College Preparatory School in 1973, where he earned |
| 8 | | many awards and honors, including an honors diploma in science, |
| 9 | | the Pintozzi Ward, of which he was the first recipient, and the |
| 10 | | National Merit Scholarship Corporation Letter of Commendation; |
| 11 | | he was also the Vice President of the Black Organization of |
| 12 | | Students, the Secretary of the Monogram Club, and a student |
| 13 | | athletic trainer; he then attended the University of Chicago |
| 14 | | and thereafter Loyola University, where he graduated with a |
| 15 | | Bachelor of Science degree in 1977; he earned his Doctorate in |
| 16 | | Medicine from Rush University in 1981; he completed his |
| 17 | | residency, with a concentration in the emergency room, at |
| 18 | | Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in 1984; |
| 19 | | and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Winston was an emergency medicine specialist |
| 21 | | in practice for 34 years; he was a gentleman and a scholar; and
|
| 22 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Winston was preceded in death by his sister, |
