SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Stephen J. "Steve" Werenski, who passed 
4away on March 3, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Steve Werenski was born in Waukegan to Marjorie 
6and Stephen Werenski on November 21, 1944; he served in the 
7United States Army and was married to  Opal Werenski for 54 
8years; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Steve Werenski worked for Hansen (later Mercer) in 
10Lake Bluff for 30 years; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Steve Werenski loved fishing, bowling, golf, 
12poker,  and spending time with his family;  he was known as "Dr. 
13Bowl" and enjoyed participating in numerous fantasy sports 
14leagues; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Steve Werenski was preceded in death by his 
16parents; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Steve Werenski is survived by his children, 
18Kristina (Eric) and Heather (Tom); his grandchildren who knew 
19him as "Papa", Athena, Tommy, and Lucas; and numerous others 
20who called him uncle, cousin, friend, colleague, or second dad;

1therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Stephen J. "Steve" Werenski, and extend our sincere condolences 
5to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
6it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Steve Werenski as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
