SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Robert L. Tobey of Milan, who passed away 
4on April 1, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Tobey was born in Moline to Donald and 
6Helen Gale Tobey on August 30, 1936; he served his country as 
7in the United States Marine Corps;  he married Carol A. Creger 
8in Viola on October 12, 1957; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Tobey worked as a supervisor at Oscar Mayer 
10in Davenport for 37 years; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Tobey was a member of the First 
12Presbyterian Church in Milan, where he enjoyed attending the 
13men's breakfasts every Tuesday; he was also a member of the 
14Rock Island Moose Lodge No. 190 and was a past member of the 
15Rock Island Conservation Club on Big Island; he enjoyed 
16wintering in Texas and traveling; he was an avid outdoorsman, 
17who enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and sport shooting; he 
18was a proud supporter of the United States military; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Robert Tobey was preceded in death by his parents 
20and his brother, Donald Tobey Jr.; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Tobey is survived by his wife, Carol; his 
2children, Steven R. (husband, Tony Luna) Tobey and Jeanne L. 
3(husband, Shannon Spence) Tobey; and his half-brother, Robert 
4(Mary Lou) Ries; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Robert L. Tobey and extend our sincere condolences to his 
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Robert Tobey as an expression of our 
12deepest sympathy.
