SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Jim Duffy of Woodridge, who passed away 
4on March 24, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Duffy was born on March 15, 1945; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Jim Duffy was elected to the Woodridge Park 
7District Board of Park Commissioners in 1987 and recently 
8celebrated his 30th anniversary; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jim Duffy has been a dedicated and outstanding 
10advocate for parks and recreation; his personal mission was to 
11ensure every Woodridge resident  had a park within walking 
12distance of their home; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Jim Duffy's insights, passion, and leadership as a 
14park commissioner, friend, and personal mentor will be sorely 
15missed; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Jim Duffy was the beloved husband of over 51 years 
17of Judi (Bonkoske); the loving father of Jamie (Holly), Jay 
18(Sheri), and Josh (Melissa); the proud grandfather of Colin, 
19Tyler, Trevor, Vanessa, and Elina; the cherished son of Ruth 
20(Kloke) and the late Owen P. Duffy; the dearest brother of Ruth

1Ann (Dennis) Dunton and Dan (Kathy) Duffy; the fond 
2brother-in-law of Gerry (Mary) Bonkoske; and fond uncle and 
3friend of many; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Jim Duffy, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
7friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Jim Duffy as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
