SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Elida Cano of Elgin, who passed away on 
4March 5, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Elida Cano married Adrian at the gazebo on Walton 
6Island in Elgin; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Elida Cano worked as a tax adviser; she served as 
8a board member for Shared Harvest and the Elgin Hispanic 
9Network; she was active at the Church of Christ in Elgin; and
  
 
  
10    WHEREAS, Elida Cano took on a mission of spreading 
11awareness of breast cancer among Latinas; she became dedicated 
12to prompting Latinas to do self exams and get mammograms;  she 
13encouraged people to value wellness and to proactively stay 
14healthy; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Elida Cano is survived by her husband, Adrian; her 
16son, Isaac; and her sister, Evelyn Saldana; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
19Elida Cano and extend our sincere condolences to her family, 
20friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
