SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 
3recognize the life of Christopher P. Gomez Jr., who passed away 
4in 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, Christopher Gomez Jr. was the 
6only son of retired Chicago Fire Fighter Christopher P. Gomez 
7Sr. and Edith; he attended Galileo Math and Science Academy 
8until the eighth grade, when he started high school at Hubbard 
9and graduated from Lincoln Way Central High School; he 
10continued his education at Moraine Valley Community College and 
11graduated on the Dean's List; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Christopher Gomez Jr. joined the Central Stickney 
13Fire Protection District, located in Stickney Township in 
14unincorporated Cook County, in 2009; one year later, he earned 
15an emergency medical technician license; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Christopher Gomez Jr. had planned to join the 
17United States Military and dreamed of becoming a member of the 
18Chicago Fire Department; and

  
 
19    WHEREAS, Christopher Gomez Jr. imparts a legacy of 
20faithfulness, service, and dignity; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the life 
3of Christopher P. Gomez Jr. and extend our sincere condolences 
4to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
5it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Christopher Gomez Jr. as an 
8expression of our deepest sympathy.
