| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Hugo "Nick" Oster of Crystal Lake, who |
| 4 | | passed away on February 3, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Nick Oster was born in Chicago to Frank and |
| 6 | | Catharina (Angele) Oster of May 11, 1931; he grew up playing |
| 7 | | sports at the YMCA; he attended University of Illinois at Navy |
| 8 | | Pier; he joined the National Guard and served in the United |
| 9 | | States Army in Germany during the Korean War; after an |
| 10 | | honorable release from active duty, he continued to serve in |
| 11 | | the National Guard; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Nick Oster was an accredited electrician; he was a |
| 13 | | facilities manager for Cotter & company in Chicago, and then in |
| 14 | | Harvard for 30 years; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Nick Oster was a 55-year member of the Illinois |
| 16 | | Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134; he was an avid |
| 17 | | tennis player and golfer and one of the original members of the |
| 18 | | Wilde Bunch at MCC Fitness Center; he enjoyed gardening and |
| 19 | | automobile and home maintenance; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Nick Oster was preceded in death by his parents |
| 21 | | and his sister-in-law, Geraldine; and
