SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Merle A. "Woody" Wood of Elgin, who 
4passed away on December 20, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Merle Wood was born in Elgin to Felix and Elma 
6(Nesler) Wood on April 14, 1944; he graduated from Elgin High 
7School in 1962 and served in the United States Army; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Merle Wood owned and operated Custom Tile in 
9Bartlett for many years; and
  
 
  
10    WHEREAS, Merle Wood was preceded in death by his parents 
11and his first wife, Joanne Wood; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Merle Wood is survived by his wife, Pamela; his 
13children, Mary Elliot and Matt (Tracy) Wood; his  grandchildren, 
14Lucas, Katie, Heidi, Grace, and Hope; and numerous family and 
15friends; therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
18Merle A. "Woody" Wood, and extend our sincere condolences to 
19his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
