SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Ronald Lee "Ron" Bloom of Coal Valley, 
4who passed away on December 12, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Ron Bloom was born in Clinton, Iowa on September 
620, 1940; he was raised in Burlington, Iowa by his mother and 
7stepfather, Helen (Hass) and Leroy Evans; he served in the U.S. 
8Army from 1961 to 1963 and married Georgia Sawyer Parker in 
9Coal Valley on March 29, 1996; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Ron Bloom worked in sales for UPS Freight in Rock 
11Island for 19 years, retiring in 2007; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Ron Bloom was a member of the Friends Circle Club; 
13he enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, and antiquing; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Ron Bloom had many special friends throughout his 
15life, including Denny Arnett, Denny and Carol Royster, Phil and 
16Darcy McBroom, Jim and Jorja Beert, John and Janet Hill, and 
17Gale and Linda Adams; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Ron Bloom is survived by his wife, Georgia; his  
19stepson, Mark Flemming; several cousins and their families; and 
20Georgia's siblings and their spouses, Sheela Sawyer, Diana and

1Neil Carroll, John and Jania Sawyer, and Doyle Sawyer and their 
2families; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Ronald Lee "Ron" Bloom, and extend our sincere condolences to 
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Ron Bloom as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
