SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald J. Crandall of Lake In The Hills, who passed away on November 29, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Don Crandall was born to LeRoy and Bette Florence Crandall on December 7, 1948; his life centered around athletics, and he received All State honors in basketball in high school; he went on to attend Northwestern University, where he was a scholarship athlete; and

WHEREAS, Don Crandall began his career teaching high school math and coaching; he later served as Athletic Director and finally as Director of Student Activities in District 211; he was inducted into the Erie High School Hall of Fame, Palatine High School Hall of Fame, and the Illinois Athletic Directors Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, Don Crandall enriched the lives of those around him; his friends and family will forever remember his hearty laugh; and

WHEREAS, Don Crandall was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers-in-law, Steve Brewers and Greg Brewers; and

WHEREAS, Dan Crandall is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his brother, Terry Crandall; his sister, Vicki (Kay) Spidahl; his brother-in-law, Mike (Mary) Brewers; his sister-in-law, Toni Crandall; his nieces and nephews, Brandi (Brant) Nehmer, Drew (Jenny) Spidahl, Zack (Colleen) Crandall, Ashley Crandall, Steve (Kathy) Brewers, Karri (JD) Walter, and Katie (Adam) Lutostanski; and his many great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald J. Crandall and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Don Crandall as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
