SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Donald F. "Don" Hoppensteadt of Huntley, 
4who passed away on November 10, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Don Hoppensteadt was born in Wood Dale to Fred and 
6Lillian Hoppensteadt on May 27, 1933; he graduated from Lane 
7Tech High School and served in the United States Army; he 
8married Barbara Barth on April 30, 1960; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Don Hoppensteadt worked as a mechanical engineer; 
10and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Don Hoppensteadt was president of the School Board 
12for Pilgrimage Lutheran Church in Chicago; he was a Boy Scout 
13leader  and served as president of Our Savior Lutheran Church in 
14Wisconsin; he was a member of Shepherd of the Prairie Church 
15and a proud Chicago White Sox fan; he enjoyed golfing, 
16swimming, playing cards, and collecting antique clocks; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Don Hoppensteadt was preceded in death by his 
18parents; his son, Ronald Hoppensteadt; his grandson, Alex 
19Hoppensteadt; and his brother, Robert (Esther) Hoppensteadt; 
20and

1    WHEREAS, Don Hoppensteadt is survived by his wife of 57 
2years, Barb; his children, Juli (Scott) Hoppensteadt and Jim 
3(Jodi) Hoppensteadt; his daughter-in-law, Dawn Hoppensteadt; 
4his grandsons, Max and Matt (Megan); and his 
5great-granddaughters, Skylar and Ashlyn; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Donald F. "Don" Hoppensteadt, and extend our sincere 
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
10him; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to  the family of  Don Hoppensteadt as an expression of 
13our deepest sympathy.
