SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Rev. Robert L. "Bob" Pearson of East 
4Moline, who passed away on December 9, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rev. Pearson was born in White Plains, New York to 
6Anton N. Pearson and Martha Erika Erickson on September 17, 
71936; he married Francine Pearson in Moline at Calvary Lutheran 
8Church on June 24, 1961; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Rev. Pearson was ordained into the Lutheran 
10ministry in June 1962; he was a military chaplain for 28 years, 
11serving in Germany, Vietnam, Thailand, and several stateside 
12posts; he most recently served at the Rock Island Arsenal, 
13until his retirement; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Rev. Pearson was a member of the Calvary Lutheran 
15Church, American Legion Post 227 East Moline, the Military 
16Officers Association of America, and Churches United; he 
17enjoyed collecting HO model trains; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Rev. Pearson was preceded in death by his wife, 
19Francine; his parents; his brothers, Herbert and Arnold; and 
20two sisters-in-law; and

1    WHEREAS, Rev. Pearson is survived by his sons, Dean (Lisa) 
2Pearson and Neal A. Pearson,  and his granddaughters, Allison 
3and Amy;  therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Rev. Robert L. "Bob" Pearson, and extend our sincere 
7condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
8him; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to  the family of  Rev. Pearson as an expression of our 
11deepest sympathy.
