SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Donald H. Nyquist of Silvis, who passed 
4away on November 27, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Nyquist was born in Moline to George and 
6Margery Miner Nyquist on November  19, 1932; he served in the 
7U.S. Navy during the Korean War and married Rita Hobbs in 
8Moline on June 22, 1955; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Donald Nyquist retired as an accountant from Case 
10International Harvester in 1992; he also owned General 
11Bookkeeping; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Donald Nyquist was a lifetime member of American 
13Legion Post 227 and Korean War Vets Chapter 168; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Donald Nyquist was preceded in death by his 
15parents; his wife, Rita; his son, Guy Nyquist; and his  
16daughter, Beth A. Strait; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Donald Nyquist is survived by his children, Rose 
18Nyquist and John (Beth) Nyquist; his grandchildren, Kenny 
19(Jenny) Nyquist, Ryan Poremba, and Chelsea Schurr; five 
20great-grandchildren; his brother, George Nyquist; and his

1special friend, Dorothy Meier; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Donald H. Nyquist, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Donald Nyquist as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
