| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Kalb of Springfield, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 14, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kalb was born in Springfield to Arthur and |
| 6 | | Clara (Reynolds) Kalb on December 31, 1929; he graduated from |
| 7 | | Auburn High School and attended The Art Institute of Chicago; |
| 8 | | he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War |
| 9 | | and married Marjorie E."Margie" Caufield in Carlinville on |
| 10 | | January 21, 1952; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Following the war, Bob Kalb began working as a |
| 12 | | clerk in the Springfield Post Office; he became a rural mail |
| 13 | | carrier on Route #2 in Springfield in 1956; he retired in |
| 14 | | January of 1985; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kalb joined the staff in the Grand Secretaries |
| 16 | | office of The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of AF & AM of the |
| 17 | | State of Illinois; in October 1989, he was elected to the |
| 18 | | office of Grand Secretary until his retirement in 2003; he was |
| 19 | | past Master and Secretary of St. Paul's Lodge No. 500, a member |
| 20 | | of The Scottish Rite, Valley of Springfield, Ansar Temple |
| 21 | | AANMS, and Springfield Lodge No. 4 AF & AM; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kalb and his wife moved to The Villages in |
| 2 | | Florida, where they enjoyed golf and other activities for 12 |
| 3 | | years before returning to Springfield; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kalb was preceded in death by his parents; his |
| 5 | | twin brother, Richard Kalb; his brother, Russell Kalb; and his |
| 6 | | sister, Dorothea Dodson; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Bob Kalb is survived by his wife of over 65 years, |
| 8 | | Marjorie; his daughters, Connie Sebok, Karen (Kevin) Harris, |
| 9 | | Patti (Dennis) Farrar, and Karla (Stephen) Kuhns; his |
| 10 | | grandchildren, Michael (Alisha) Kalb, Nicholas Harris, Collin |
| 11 | | Harris, Zachary Harris, Ashleigh Farrar (Jeff) Lentz, Jason |
| 12 | | Farrar, and Logan, Rileigh, and Delaney Kuhns; his |
| 13 | | great-grandchildren, Destiny and Ethen Kalb, Trevor Kalb, and |
| 14 | | Theo and Sullivan Lentz; and many nieces and nephews; |
| 15 | | therefore, be it
|
| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
| 17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 18 | | Robert "Bob" Kalb, and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 19 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 20 | | further

| 21 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
