| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Victor Mercy of East Moline, who passed |
| 4 | | away on November 5, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Victor Mercy was born in East Moline to Andrew and |
| 6 | | Clara Rollins Mercy on March 20, 1921; he married Betty Terry |
| 7 | | in Kahoka, Missouri on April 11, 1942; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Victor Mercy served in the United States Army |
| 9 | | 101st Airborne Division during World War II; he retired from |
| 10 | | John Deere Experimental; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Victor Mercy enjoyed woodworking; he had a great |
| 12 | | sense of humor and was always ready to help his friends and |
| 13 | | neighbors; he was a loving and devoted husband; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Victor Mercy was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 15 | | Betty; his son, Terry; his four brothers; and two sister; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Victor Mercy is survived by his son, Timothy |
| 17 | | (MaryEllyn) Mercy; his six grandchildren; his |
| 18 | | great-grandchildren; and his sister, Helen Deopere; therefore, |
